Timeline of Clemex Technologies Inc.
1990
Clemex is founded by four former employees of LECO Corp. Startup funds are provided by founders, with the help of a loan from SDI.
1994
Sales and marketing initiatives for Clemex-brand products kick off: integrated image analysis solutions for inclusions in steel, hardness testing, grain size, coating thickness, and particle size.
2000
The company develops an international market presence in the automotive, aerospace, raw materials, mining, and pharmaceutical industries. Distributors are active in Asia, South America, Europe, and the Middle East.
2005
FDA-regulated industries – such as pharmaceutical companies requiring conformity with CFR Part 11 – can now ensure data integrity with the User Management module.
2010
Clemex becomes the exclusive distributor for Leica Microsystems’ microscopes, thanks to the company’s outstanding expertise in the field of materials science.
2011
Clemex signs on the dotted line to become the exclusive distributor of Märzhäuser Wetzlar products in North America.
2014
Under a new board of directors and president, the company takes a bold new turn and changes its approach to the technology used for developing its products.
2016
Clemex concludes a bilateral distribution agreement with NIKON Metrology covering the Americas and the EMEA region.
2018
Clemex undergoes a technological shift with the integration of machine learning algorithms into its software.
2020
The most recent version of Clemex Vision now leverages ML capabilities to provide a fast and reliable way of optically identifying challenging microstructures.
2023
Due to growth, the company moved to Brossard, Montreal. The new office features a technical lab and way more space for future growth.
2024
Recent advances in artificial intelligence have given the possibility for image analysis to be simplified: a new algorithm for image segmentation is launched.
